The date is set and Larry Long is taking names and information from those who want to join the 2012 Day of Ministry team riding into the Boonville Correctional Center (prison).
The majority of the prisoner population is under 30 years of age and our hope is to share a life witness to these young men about the hope of Jesus Christ on this day inside the fences, where they are, if we’ll go. Some will hear the call and show up at the gates to go in. If you’ve been you know what it’s like, if not please make plans to go.
Please contact Larry Long at landjlong@cebridge.net and his phone is 660-882-6462.
Again we plan to meet for breakfast in Blue Springs and a Ride out to Boonville from the Kansas City area on Saturday morning June 2, 2012. At the Concordia Rest Area on I-70 eastbound, we will take a short break and gather up other riders meeting us there and continue our ride into Boonville.
Arriving in Boonville by 11:00 we will join Larry and the rest of the riders at Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church for lunch and instructions.
Only 75 bikes will be allowed through the prison gates so if you are wanting to go in this year contact Larry to give him your information for the prison’s screening procedure.
I hope we can support this great ministry in a very big way again this year as we have for the last two years.
Below are some pictures taken of our Fellowship, Ride and Bikes outside the fences as no pictures are allowed inside. Also here’s a link to Wayne’s photos from the day’s activities http://azurministriesclubdmaskusphotos.shutterfly.com/18892
